Privacy Policy — Footy Cup 26

Last updated: 9 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Luminae Labs Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17124756), handles information in connection with the mobile app Footy Cup 26 (the "App").

Summary

Footy Cup 26 does not require a traditional account, email, or real name. You can browse the tournament with no profile at all. If you choose to take part in predictions and leaderboards, you create a lightweight profile (a nickname, a country, and an avatar from a built in set) tied to an anonymous identifier. Private leagues include a chat between members.

Information we handle

On device preferences. Your settings, such as your selected team, language and theme, are stored locally on your device.

Tournament content. The App downloads fixtures, results and standings from our backend on Google Firebase. Delivering it involves standard technical data, such as your device making a network request (for example an IP address handled by the hosting provider to deliver the data).

Anonymous profile (predictions and leaderboards). If you join the predictions or a league, we create an anonymous identifier (Firebase Anonymous Authentication) and store the nickname, country and avatar you choose. We do not ask for your email or real name.

Predictions. The match predictions you make, and the points they earn, are stored to power the leaderboards.

Chat in private leagues. Messages you send in a private league are visible to the other members of that league. We process and store them to deliver the chat. The App does not allow photo uploads in chat.

Analytics and diagnostics. The App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand general, aggregated usage and to diagnose crashes. This may include app instance identifiers, device model, operating system version, approximate region derived from IP, and crash logs.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone or camera data.

How we use information

We use this data to deliver the tournament content, to run predictions, leaderboards, leagues and chat, to keep the App working, to fix problems, and to understand general usage. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. The App contains no ads.

User content and conduct

You are responsible for the information you choose to send, publish or share through the App, including any content you post in chat. Objectionable content and abusive behavior are not tolerated. Within the App you can report content and users, and block other users. We may remove content and remove or ban users who violate these terms.

Sharing

We use Google Firebase as our infrastructure, analytics and crash reporting provider, which processes data on our behalf. Messages you post in a private league are shared with the other members of that league. We do not share your information with any other third parties, except where required by law.

Data retention

We keep data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy or to meet legal obligations. On device preferences remain on your device until you clear them or uninstall the App. Your anonymous profile, predictions and chat messages are retained while you use these features, or until you ask us to delete them. After the tournament ends, the chat in private leagues will be closed and the associated messages will be deleted. Analytics and diagnostic data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes above.

Children

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

Depending on your location, including under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. To request deletion of your profile, predictions or messages, or to exercise any right, contact us at the address below.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information, including the security controls provided by our infrastructure provider. However, no system can be considered completely secure.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The most recent version will be made available in the App, and we will change the date at the top when we do.

Service availability and liability

While we use reasonable measures to keep the service available, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Luminae Labs Ltd is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, or from content shared by users. Nothing in this policy limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your statutory data protection rights.
